The Cayenne has been an iconic car for Porsche, since it not only took the car maker to a new space, but also turned its fortunes around. Porsche has continuously been updating the Cayenne to make it faster and better. Last year, Porsche unveiled the Cayenne Turbo GT — an even bonkers version of the SUV with no electrical assistance, and the German car maker has now finally launched it in India at a price of Rs 2.57 crore (ex-showroom).

What’s new in the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT Coupe?

Starting from the exteriors, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT Coupe gets a new Arctic Grey paint scheme, followed by a tweaked front-end with a GT-specific apron, a contoured carbon roof, black wheel arch claddings, an extendable rear spoiler lip, and a carbon diffuser panel. The Turbo GT also gets 22-inch GT alloy wheels finished in a tasteful shade of satin Neodyme, shod on Pirelli P Zero Corsa performance tyres.

The Cayenne Turbo GT Coupe reaches a top speed of 300kmph

Under the hood of the Cayenne Turbo GT Coupe is the familiar 4-litre twin-turbo V8 without a hybrid setup. Paired to an eight-speed torque converter automatic, this powertrain has been massaged to produce more horses, with the Turbo GT putting out 631bhp and 850Nm of torque (89bhp and 80Nm of torque more than the Cayenne Turbo Coupe). The Cayenne Turbo GT Coupe is also faster, reaching a top speed of 300kmph (14kmph more than the Cayenne Turbo Coupe). Porsche says it has used new connecting rods, pistons, and a new crankshaft, and the transmission also makes use of a water-cooling system.

Porsche has also made changes to the chassis, as the Cayenne Turbo GT Coupe has a 17mm lower ride height, and the rigidity of the three-chamber air suspension has also gone up by 15 per cent. The Cayenne Turbo GT Coupe gets active roll stabilisation with performance-oriented control software, active suspension management, torque vectoring and rear-wheel steering with uniqiue calibrations. It also makes use of ceramic brakes as standard.

The interiors are swathed in GT-specific Alcantara upholstery

The Cayenne Turbo GT Coupe gets eight-step adjustable sport seats in the front swathed in GT-specific Alcantara upholstery with Neodyme or Arctic Grey inserts. The Turbo GT Coupe also gets the latest version of Porsche Communication Management as standard, and it also allows Apple Music and Podcasts integration, along with Android Auto.

The Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT Coupe goes mainly against the Lamborghini Urus, the Audi RS Q8, BMW X5M Competition, and the Aston Martin DBX. Follow our social media handles for more and let us know which one would you pick out of these.
