After a brief cooldown period following the Taycan and Macan launches, Porsche has now launched the 718 GTS 4.0 variants of the Cayman and the Boxster, priced at Rs 1.46 and 1.49 crore respectively. The Porsche 718 Cayman and the Boxster GTS 4.0 are new additions to the car maker’s lineup in India, which offer better performance, tweaked exteriors and interiors, additional equipment, and more importantly — a six-speed manual transmission! Yay enthusiasts!

Porsche 718 GTS 4.0 Design

There’s always a shade of familiarity when it comes to Porsches, and these new GTS 4.0 variants of the Cayman and Boxster are no exception to that. That being said, these are gorgeous looking cars which will appeal to most people. Certain elements on both cars receive dark treatment for contrast, such as the air-intake on the front apron which is finished entirely in black, while the spoiler lip, front and rear fog lights, and the lower bumper (which has also been redesigned) receive black treatment. Both cars also sport 235/35 ZR20 tyres at the front and 265/35 ZR20 at the rear, along with 20-inch light alloy wheels finished in Satin Gloss Black.

Porsche 718 GTS 4.0 Powertrain

The Porsche 718 Cayman and Boxster GTS 4.0 share the same 4-litre flat-six powertrain

These mid-engined Porsches share the same 4-litre flat six putting out 394.2bhp and 420Nm of torque, paired to a six-speed manual transmission. However, the torque figure goes up by 10Nm with the PDK automatic transmission. The Cayman GTS 4.0 and Boxster 4.0 are capable of finishing a 0-100kmph sprint in just 4.5 seconds, reaching a claimed top speed of 293kmph.

Porsche 718 GTS 4.0 Interiors and Equipment

The interiors are wrapped in dark Alcantara

The Cayman and Boxster GTS 4.0 receive dark Alcantara leather upholstery, which also covers the A-pillar and roof lining on the Cayman GTS 4.0. The GTS package is optional and adds two colour options for the interior accents — Carmine Red and Chalk. In terms of equipment, the 718 GTS 4.0 variants receive a 7-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system with Porsche Communication Management, Track Precision App, navigation, real-time traffic information, voice commands, and Porsche Connect. Other equipment includes Porsche Torque Vectoring and a choice between a BOSE surround sound system and a Burmester High-end surround sound system.
