About a year after announcing the joint venture between Ford Motor Company and Mahindra and Mahindra, the first product of the new venture has been spotted in production guise, albeit partially. Judging by the dimensions, it appears to be a full-size SUV, hence it will most likely be based on the upcoming Mahindra XUV500. The all-black grille shows floating chrome elements, and the large headlight next to the grille means the new SUV will sport a split headlamp setup, with the DRLs positioned above, similar to the arrangement seen on the Tata Harrier.

Now, though the upcoming Ford and Mahindra SUVs will be based on the same platform, they will look completely different from each other (similar to how the Hyundai Creta differs from the Kia Seltos), and may even sport subtle differences in their powertrains. Speaking of which, on offer will be an improved version of Mahindra's 2.2-litre MHawk engine — making 155bhp and 360Nm in its current tune — no doubt pushing out higher figures. Besides, it will also pack the 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol engine that debuted with the all-new Thar, most likely in a higher state of tune as well. Finally, both the engine options will no doubt get a manual as well as automatic transmission option.

The upcoming Ford SUV, thus far known only by its CX757 codename will bridge the gap between the Ecosport and the Endeavour. It will most likely be launched soon after the updated Mahindra XUV500 comes out, which might be sometime in mid-2021.
