The next generation of Minis are around the corner, and while we wait for them to arrive, the BMW-owned British brand is keeping things interesting with a new special edition hot-hatch: the JCW 1to6 Edition. The speciality of this Mini is that the good old 2-litre turbo four-pot is now paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, hence the name 1to6. According to the carmaker, this iteration of the already popular JCW “symbolizes maximum driving pleasure with an authentic motorsport feeling.” This model is limited to just 999 units and will be on sale throughout Europe, the U.S., Canada, and Mexico from September 2023. Unfortunately, India is not on the list for the Mini JCW 1to6 Edition.

The The JCW 1to6 Edition is powered by a 2-litre turbo inline-four engine, and it is mated to a 6-speed stick shifter

The Mini JCW 1to6 Edition will be available in a single exterior finish: Midnight Black. In addition to that, the grille surrounds, waistline finisher, and side scuttles are finished in Piano Black. Also, there is a grey-coloured bonnet stripe which runs all the way to the rear apron. The edition-specific centre stripe depicts the motorsport heritage of Mini. The 18-inch Circuit Spoke alloys are painted in Jet Black. This all-black exterior finish gives the Mini JCW 1to6 a racecar vibe.

The JCW 1to6 Edition's dashboard has "One of 999" embossing

As this is a limited edition Mini, there are some cool 1to6 badges on both the outside and inside. Be it on the side scuttles, the C-pillar, the rear of the car and the passenger-side dashboard. There is also “One of 999” badging on the sunroof, and the instrument panel. The cabin is finished in black and grey with an anthracite-coloured headliner. The 1to6 badging continues on the lower spoke of the steering wheel and floor mats.

The JCW 1to6 Edition will be limited to just 999 units globally

As for the powertrain, the Mini JCW 1to6 Edition retains the 2-litre turbocharged inline-four mill from its regular models. It puts down 228bhp and 320Nm of twist and is mated strictly to a six-speed manual gearbox which transfers the power to the front wheels only. A specially modified version of this limited edition hot-hatch will race in the 24-hour Nurburgring endurance and will debut publicly today.
