The MG Hector Blackstorm edition gets blacked out elements and first-in segment digital key

MG Motor India launches a new black edition for its mid-size SUV in India, the Hector Blackstorm. It is priced at Rs 21.24 lakh and goes up to Rs 22.75 lakh. It gets blacked out elements for the exterior and interior with red accents and additionally, a first-in segment digital key feature with key-sharing.

MG Hector Blackstorm design

The MG Hector Blackstorm gets a blacked out treatment with red accents for the exterior elements such as the logo, front mesh grille, skid plates, tailgate garnish, side body cladding, roof rails, smoked LED headlamps and connecting tail lights. It rides on 18-inch black wheels now with red calipers and can be specced in five, six and seven-seater configurations.

MG Hector Blackstorm Interior and features

The MG Hector Blackstorm’s cabin gets a blacked-out treatment as well with gunmetal accents on the centre console, dashboard and the steering wheel. The seats and steering wheel get an all-black leather upholstery with Blackstorm badging. The other specs continue to remain the same with the 7-inch cluster and 14-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an eight-speaker Infinity sound system. It also gets a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger and a digital bluetooth key with key sharing function.

MG Hector Blackstorm engine

The MG Hector Blackstorm continues to run the same powertrains – 1.5-litre petrol turbo engine that makes 141bhp and 250Nm, and a 2-litre diesel engine that makes 168bhp and 350Nm. The diesel engine can only be paired with a manual transmission, while the turbo petrol engine can either be mated to a manual or an automatic transmission. 

MG Hector Blackstorm price and rivals

The prices for the MG Hector Blackstorm start from Rs 21.24 lakh and go up to Rs 22.75 lakh. It rivals other dark editions like the Kia Seltos which gets an X-Line priced at Rs 20.35 lakh, the Tata Harrier Dark Edition priced at Rs 20 lakh, the Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo priced at Rs 18.6 lakh, Volkswagen Taigun GT Plus Edge Deep Black Pearl priced at Rs 18.38 lakh.
