MG Motor India has registered an increase in sales in the first quarter of calendar year 2022. The carmaker ended up selling 4721 units in the first quarter, which is a growth of 69% over the number of cars sold by the carmaker in the fourth quarter of 2021. However, it has also stated that the production capacity has been impacted immensely with the ongoing semiconductor shortage and the Covid-19 pandemic.

While MG didn’t reveal the exact numbers of its lineup, it says it continues to witness ‘positive momentum’ in its portfolio in terms of enquiries and bookings, while also evaluating its production capabilities subject to supply constraints. The Hector, and the Astor, in particular, continue to be among the best-sellers in MG’s lineup

MG Motor India has recently also launched the facelifted ZS EV, which receives design tweaks, updated interiors, new equipment, and most importantly a bigger battery which has not only resulted in improved range, but also sees a significant upgrade in performance. MG says it has racked up over 1500 bookings for the facelifted ZS EV in the month of March itself.
