After the launch of the GLE 63 S internationally in 2020, Mercedes-AMG has finally launched its SUV Coupe in India making it the most powerful SUV by the company in the country. The new SUV Coupe will also be the first AMG 63 S by the company to get the EQ boost technology that provides an extra 20bhp and 250Nm of torque. The new SUV is priced at Rs 2.07 crore in India (ex-showroom price).

The GLE 63 S Coupe is quick and does a 0-100kmph in just 3.8 seconds

The GLE 63 S Coupe gets a twin-turbocharged four-litre V8 engine producing 603bhp at 6500rpm, and 850Nm of torque at 2500-4500rpm. If this wasn’t enough, the new Coupé also gets a 48V EQ boost hybrid system that gives a boost of 20bhp and 250Nm of torque for short bursts. When it comes to performance, the GLE 63 S is not shy of dominating the road and does a 0-100kmph in just 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 280kmph. It gets an AMG nine-speed automatic gearbox.

Talking about the interiors the GLE 63 S Coupe gets the AMG performance steering wheel with an AMG badge on the front backrests. It also gets the AMG specific dials on the driver’s display, with Nappa leather seats. You also have the option to get carbonfibre trim on the interiors. It comes packed with features such as a widescreen cockpit, a panoramic sunroof, smartphone integration, illuminated running boards, illuminated AMG door sill panels with AMG lettering, wireless charging and much more.

The GLE 63 S Coupe features a large front Panamericana grille with the Merceds logo sitting in the centre

On the design front, the SUV gets the large front Panamericana grille with the Mercedes logo, under which are the black air intakes and some aero addenda. At the rear, it features wrap-around taillights, while the sloping roofline is what makes it stand out. It gets 22-inch light-alloy wheels with flared wheel arches and AMG quad exhausts.

With the introduction of the GLE 63 S Coupe in the country, Mercedes has launched their 12th AMG model, and we can only hope that more of the AMG line-up comes to India. The SUV will go against the likes of Audi RS Q8 and Porsche Cayenne Coupe Turbo.
