Lego is no stranger to recreating scaled down versions of some of our favourite cars. Every time I visit an airport, I find myself lusting after the many automotive Lego Technic sets including one for the Bugatti Chiron, the Porsche 911 GT3 and the James Bond edition Aston Martin DB5, the latter comes complete with all the gizmos. This time around, Lego has partnered up with Lamborghini to reproduce the Sian FKP 37 which was shown off at the Frankfurt Auto Show last year.
“Each Lamborghini super sports car can be unique thanks to our Ad Personam personalization program and the specific driving style of each owner, just as Lego bricks provide builders of all ages with endless possibilities for creation. This outstanding replica of the Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 from the Lego Group presents a brilliant new building experience for both super sports car fans and Lego enthusiasts and Lamborghini is privileged to share this opportunity with the Lego Group,” said Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini.
The Lego model features a replica of the V12 engine, a moveable rear spoiler, working front and rear suspension, and a functioning steering wheel. It also gets scissor doors and a fully-functioning eight-speed sequential gearbox which can be controlled by a movable paddle gearshift! The scale model is coloured in lime-green and finished with gold rims, both of which are options on the real car. Is the kid inside jumping about already? Sit tight for the next bit. The front hood of the Lego model can be opened to find a “Lamborghini overnight bag” which will feature a unique serial number for each model, allowing buyers to unlock special content.
The Lego Technic Sian is sold in a unique box too, featuring some elements of the car. The scale model measures 5-inches tall, 23-inches long and 9-inches wide. Starting June 1, the model will be exclusively available via Lego stores or the Lego website for a price of $379.99 (Rs 28,800 before Indian taxes and duties). It will be available globally at other retailers from August 2020. With a total of 3696 pieces, this scale model is sure to keep you busy while you ‘work’ from home.
