FMSCI declares final schedule for INRC 2020

A total of five rounds will be held, with the action kicking off at Arunachal Pradesh

After many reports of a tentative schedule for this year’s Indian National Rally Championship (INRC), the Federation of Motor Sport Clubs of India (FMSCI) has just some time back declared the schedule for the FMSCI INRC 2020, organised by Champions Yacht Club.

The INRC 2020 shall comprise five rallies, all of which will take place over the course of a scant one-and-a-half months. Next, the championship will be held at only four venues, namely Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh), Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), and Hampi and Bengaluru (Karnataka). Further, the first two rounds, scheduled for Itanagar, will both be held virtually in the third week of December.

Below is the schedule, as prepared by the FMSCI:

Now, regular readers of evo India may remember earlier during the lockdown - right after FMSCI had declared measures for Indian motorsport – that we had asked personalities within the motorsport fraternity on requisite steps for organising motorsport events once the Covid-19 lockdown lifts. Among the many suggestions were the reductions in individual events/venues as well as the need for holding double-header weekends. The resultant schedule seems to follow those suggestions in both letter and spirit.

Finally, as you all may be aware, evo India magazine itself owes its existence to rallying. Hence, the fact that all the flying dirt, petrol fumes and exhaust roars are set to once again make an appearance, has us waiting with bated breath.
