With the launch of the e-tron GT, Audi has furthered its push towards electrification, bringing in sportscar-like performance in a package that looks incredibly desirable. Audi India is putting electrification front and centre of its gameplan, expecting up to 15 per cent of sales to come from electrified cars by 2025. The e-tron GT plays to Audi’s strengths – offering a tech-laden experience, incredible performance, fantastic cornering and most of all better value than the equivalent combustion engined cars.
There is plenty more inside the issue: we’ve pitted the Tata Punch against the Nissan Magnite and the Maruti Suzuki Ignis to find out if Tata’s latest (and India’s safest car as of going to press) really carves a segment of its own. We’ve also driven the 2021 Audi Q5, the VW Taigun 1.0 AT, the Skoda Slavia prototype and the Lamborghini Huracan STO. New driving destinations have been explored with the Hyundai i20 N Line and the Taigun has lit up our Diwali in ways more than one. We’ve also put together two super sedans – the Mercedes-AMG E 63 S and the BMW M5 Competition – to find out which is the better 600bhp+ V8-powered AWD riot!
Add to that all the action on two wheels: the ballistic RE Continental GT-R 650, the Bajaj Pulsar 250s, the Ducati Monster, the Ola S1 Pro, the Yamaha R15 and the KTM RC200. Our tuned section features a tastefully done Ford Mustang and the clamorous Ferrari F8 N-Largo Spider by Novitec.
This issue is packed with incredible content and it is not one you want to miss!
Audi is on a roll with yet another electric vehicle for India and this time around, it’s the stunning e-tron GT. It shares a platform with the Porsche Taycan and brings incredible performance in a 2+2 GT Coupe body style. We drive through the hills around Pune and ask the question – do you really even need the RS7 anymore?
It’s the race car for the road! Possibly the maddest iteration of the Huracan yet, and we’ve driven it at the Vallelunga race track and then around the Italian countryside to truly revel in the mental performance of this machine. While EVs are knocking on the doors of the ICE, this V10 monster doesn't seem to have any intention of slowing down!
Fresh off their mid-life facelifts, BMW and Mercedes-AMG's 600bhp+ V8-powered, AWD, absolutely bonkers super sedans have their gloves off – which one will end up with a bloodied nose this time around? We drive them hard and fast on the road to see which one should be the next car in your garage.
The Harley-Davidson Pan America is an odd-ball – an off-road motorcycle from the makers of cruisers. In this incredible adventure, five riders attempt to scale the mighty Key La pass, which also happens to be one of the world’s highest motorable roads. Will the Harleys make it out unscathed?
Electric mobility may be the future for Audi, but in the present it is their range of Q SUVs that are tasked with bringing in the numbers. With a few subtle changes for 2021 on the styling, interiors and equipment fronts, the best-selling Q5 is back! However, it is only available with a petrol motor. Will that be enough?
With the Rapid now discontinued, Skoda is set to take on the Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz with the MQB-A0-IN based Slavia sedan. In this camouflaged first drive, we were impressed with how the Slavia brings brilliant driving dynamics to this segment, and delivers on the Thrill of Driving. Time for the rivals to take notice?
The Taigun with its 1.5-litre TSI Evo engine might be aimed at the driving enthusiast but it's the 1-litre TSI power plant that’s going to bring in the numbers. We get our hands on the Taigun Topline with the automatic transmission, which gets the heavily localised engine, to see how well the smaller of the two engines performs.
Tata’s claims of the Punch carving a segment of its own have been put to the test! There’s nothing like a bit of perspective, and we’ve got together the Maruti Suzuki Ignis and the Nissan Magnite, two vehicles that bookend the new Tata. Does the Punch do enough to claim a space of its own?
Celebrating the festival of lights from behind the wheel. The Volkswagen Taigun expressed its glamorous side this festive season, putting up a brilliant light show! A true testimony as to how the Taigun is a huge step forward for Volkswagen in India.
In the latest installment of our great driving roads series, we discover the route between the towns of Bhor and Mahad in Maharashtra’s Western Ghats. And accompanying us on this edition of the drive is the new i20 N Line – that promises plenty of driving thrills with its retuned suspension and steering set up.
These off-road heroes are two very different performance SUVs that do very similar things – decimate off-road trails and make you grin like few other cars can
What started off as a stock Ford Mustang has transformed into an absolute Frankenstien's monster that places weight on handling over outright performance.
With just fifteen examples of this roadster worldwide the N-Largo Spider is sure to be a super-exclusive collectors vehicle. Packing performance, style, and exclusivity, Novitec’s latest creation blows its top away with maddening figures
In its twenty years of existence, this very bike has redefined India’s biking culture. Bajaj is back with the biggest Pulsars yet – the naked N250 and the faired F250. They share the same underpinnings but get tweaked ergonomics and styling. Do the all-new 2021 Pulsar 250s pack enough to take forward this legacy? We ride them on both road and track to find out.
Move past all the hype, and you have an electric scooter that does a few things well and a few things not-so-well. It does have good specs, a large battery and a powerful motor — giving it what should be plenty of usable performance in the real world. But is it really the revolution we were promised?
We got a chance to experience the GT-R650 first hand at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore. Based on the RE Continental GT, this GT-R 650 is a modern full-blown race bike that harks back to a bygone era, destined to set Indian racetracks on fire.
In its fourth generation, the Yamaha R15 V4 gets a bunch of cosmetic and functional upgrades. We finally get the USD forks, and styling is now in line with the R7. There’s even an R15 M! Does the R15 continue to be the benchmark in its segment in terms of performance and handling, and remain the go-to track tool for beginners?
The Monster has always been a street naked that brought superbike tech to the road. With this philosophy in mind, the all-new Ducati goes through its most significant update yet, ditching the trellis frame and bringing together the latest tech from Ducati’s modern superbikes. What do we make of it?
The KTM RC range of motorcycles have always been one of the most committed, track-focused bikes you could get on a budget. For 2022, KTM has updated the RC200 with revised styling, slightly tweaked ergonomics and a new airbox, but does it all come together to offer track DNA for the street?
