Citroen India has launched a new variant for the C3 hatchback, priced at Rs 7.6 lakh (ex-showroom). The new variant called ‘Shine’ will sit at the top of the range and offer much-needed features like a rear parking camera.

Citroen C3 Shine features

Multiple features have been added to the Shine trim that were not there on the Feel trim that sat at the top of the range earlier. These include electrically adjustable ORVMs, a rear parking camera, a day/night IRVM, and 15-inch diamond cut alloys which were only available as an option earlier. Front fog lamps, rear skid plates, a rear wiper, and a rear defogger have also been added. The Shine variant also comes with Citroen’s My Connect app with 35 Smart connectivity features. The car previously came with a 10-inch touchscreen which is expected to be carried over to this variant as well.

Citroen C3 Shine powertrains

You can have the Shine variant only with the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine of the C3. This powerplant makes 80bhp and 115Nm. This engine comes paired with a 5-speed manual. The turbo variants do not get the option of this variant.

Citroen C3 Shine price and rivals

The C3 Shine starts at Rs 7.60 lakh (ex-showroom), which is Rs 22,000 more expensive than the Feel dual-tone Vibe pack variant. There are step-ups from the Shine as well –  you can also go for the Vibe pack which is Rs 12,000 more at Rs 7.72 lakh. If you go for the dual-tone Shine, it will cost you Rs 7.75 lakh whereas the top-end dual-tone with the Vibe pack costs Rs 7.87 lakh. With the addition of these new features, Citroen C3 is finally a worthy competitor to the likes of Tata Punch and Maruti Suzuki Ignis.
