Bentleys make some of the most good looking cars on the market right now, the blend of luxury and driveability really strikes an appealing balance. Thanks to this duality, Bentley has been offering styling upgrades for their cars that make them look that much more sporty, like the Blackline specification. While that is just a cosmetic change, the carbonfibre styling specification does add some performance benefits too.
How can you get one for your car? Well firstly, you need to own a current generation Bentley Continental GT (GT Convertible qualifies too) or a Bentayga. Secondly, you need a lot of spare money, which shouldn’t be an issue if you own a Bentley. Voila, you can now get the carbonfibre styling specification. Simple right?
The package covers the front splitter, side skirts, rear diffuser and boot lid spoiler, in both cars. The Bentayga adds a bi-plane tailgate spoiler and rear screen strakes, you can also option the front air blades, wing vents and mirror caps to match the glossy carbonfibre trim.
Obviously, this being Bentley, they’ve gone overboard with the attention to detail and engineering that’s gone into making these parts. The actual weave in carbonfibre components rarely ever lines up — something Pagani prides itself on achieving — well, Bentley has done it too! It has also been woven in the same direction for all the parts, meaning they all match perfectly. The side skirts include a three-dimensional electroformed badge, a process usually reserved for the jewellery industry. Is this overkill? Yes. Is it awesome? Yes.
Of course, these components also help reduce drag and front and rear-end lift. The parts have been tested extensively to ensure they can withstand a variety of road and weather conditions and do not interfere with the car’s electronic systems. A piece of extended carbonfibre trim would be any easy thing to miss while calibrating the parking sensors, not with the nerdy attention to detail at Bentley though.
The carbonfibre styling specification can be either optioned from factory or retrofitted to your current generation Continental GT and Bentayga. The carbonfibre styling specification will also be available for the new Flying Spur soon. While specific pricing has not been released, expect it to be a hefty sum of money considering how much work has gone into it.
