2022 Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports launched, prices start from Rs 16.01 lakh

The 2022 Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports gets a new paint scheme and updated equipment over the outgoing motorcycle

Honda has updated its adventure motorcycle, and brought in the 2022 Africa Twin Adventure Sports, with prices starting from Rs 16.01 lakh (ex-showroom) for the manual variant, and Rs 17.50 lakh (ex-showroom) for the DCT variant. The 2022 Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports commands a premium of Rs 5000 more than the outgoing motorcycle, and remains mechanically identical as well.

2022 Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports: What’s new?

To begin with, the 2022 Honda Africa Twin receives a new Mat Ballistic Metallic Black paint scheme with dark outlining on the rims instead of gold. The Pearl Glare White tricolour paint scheme has been retained, but the graphics have been tweaked slightly to keep it fresh. In terms of the equipment, the Africa Twin more or less remains the same, except for the addition of Android Auto (yay Android users?) which wasn’t offered in the outgoing motorcycle, as it used to come with only Apple CarPlay.

Talking about what’s happening under the skin, the 2022 Honda Africa Twin remains identical to the outgoing motorcycle, as it retains the 1082cc liquid-cooled eight-valve powertrain that churns out 97 bhp at 7500rpm and 103Nm of torque at 6000rpm. The semi-double cradle frame hangs off of Showa sourced suspension on both ends — 45mm USD telescopic forks with preload and damping adjustability at the front, and a Pro-Link monoshock with hydraulic preload, rebound and gas-charged damping at the rear. The 2022 Honda Africa Twin also makes use of 310mm floating hydraulic twin discs with radially-mounted four-piston calipers at the front and a 256mm hydraulic disc with a single-piston caliper at the rear.

2022 Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports Features and Equipment

Apart from the addition of Android Auto, the 2022 Honda Africa Twin the same features list as the outgoing motorcycle, meaning it retains the 6.5-inch TFT touchscreen display with bluetooth connectivity, Apple CarPlay, six-axis IMU, cornering lights, switchable dual-channel ABS, six riding modes (two of which are customizable), and selectable torque control among others.

2022 Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports Prices and Rivals

Available in manual and automatic trims, the 2022 Honda Africa Twin can be had from Rs 16.01 lakh to Rs 17.50 lakh (ex-showroom). It competes against the likes of the Ducati Multistrada 950 S (Rs 15.49 lakh) and the Triumph Tiger 900 (Rs 13.70 lakh).
