Jeep India is celebrating the third anniversary of the Jeep Compass in India, and in doing so has announced a limited-run model for the Compass. Yes, we are talking about the Jeep Compass Night Eagle edition. The limited-edition trim is a black-themed Compass based on the Longitude Plus trim, and boasts mostly cosmetic updates, with no major changes to existing drivetrains. Meanwhile, the Longitude Plus trim will continue to be on sale, even after the limited edition finishes its 250-unit market cycle.
Powertrain
The Night Eagle edition will be on offer with three options for the drivetrain, namely the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol that churns out a 160bhp and is paired to a seven-speed DCT gearbox, and the 2.0-litre turbo-diesel that produces a 171bhp and is mated to either the six-speed manual or nine-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox. However, in this limited edition trim the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol won’t be on offer with a manual gearbox and in the 2.0-litre engine will be on offer with an all-wheel-drive system with the automatic gearbox trim only while the remaining models will be on offer with a front-wheel-drive system.
What is it inside out?
Night Eagle edition will be on offer with a blacked-out grille and glossy roof. This particular trim will be on offer with black 18-inch alloys as compared to the standard, which gets 17-inch alloys. On the inside, the cabin is embellished with glossy black accents and even the seats are on offer in black colour. As mentioned, the Night Eagle is based on the Longitude Plus trim which clearly states this limited edition trim will be equipped with the same set of features as the standard.
Pricing
Jeep Compass Night Eagle will come stickered at a starting price of Rs 20.14 lakh which is Rs 45,000 more than the standard prices. In fact, all the limited edition variants will be on sale with the same hike in prices over the standard version, so the Compass 2.0 MT in Night Eagle edition will be priced at Rs 20.75 lakh, and the Compass 2.0 4x4 AT will be available at Rs 23.31 lakh.
