Volkswagen set to reveal the ID.3 at IAA

Volkswagen Group is ready to reveal its first all-electric model from the ID family at the International Motor Show (Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung) which will be held from 10 to 22 September. Along with the ID.3, Volkswagen will also showcase other models from the ID family based on the MEB Platform. The major focus is to display their ground-breaking designs, greater driving ranges, impressive driving dynamics and spacious interiors.

Chapter three

The ID.3 is set to be the third major chapter in Volkswagen automotive history after the Beetle and the Golf. The ID.3 will be available with three different battery options - a large 77kWh battery, a medium sized 58kWh battery, and a 45kWh small battery. The ID.3 with these options has a minimum driving range of 330km and a maximum driving range of 550km. As per Volkswagen, a 30-minute charge (at 100kW charging capacity) can deliver close to 290km of driving range.

The ID.3 1ST is an all-electric 201bhp (150kW) rear-wheel drive car which is scheduled for production during the end of 2019 with the first vehicles being ready by mid-2020.
