Tata Motors has finally unveiled its upcoming micro-SUV to the public, and it is the Tata Punch. The upcoming micro-SUV was revealed in its concept form back at the 2020 Auto Expo known as the H2X, the HBX, or the Hornbill. Since then, its test mules have been spotted, with an endless number of spy pictures going up on the Internet.

The Tata Punch has now been revealed without a camouflage for the first time, and we can observe that it follows the Impact 2.0 design language, thus resembling the Harrier and the Safari from the front at least, with daytime running LEDs above the headlamps and fog lamps on the bumper. The Punch also receives cladding throughout the entire body, in addition to the hidden rear door handles also seen on the Tata Altroz and the Maruti Suzuki Swift. The Punch is the first car in the Tata lineup to be built on the ALFA-ARC platform, and while the specifications of the Tata Punch are currently under wraps, there will be dual-tone paint schemes on offer.

Shailesh Chandra, President, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors commented on the unveil, “Tata PUNCH, as the name suggest is an energetic vehicle with a capability to go anywhere. Light on its feet and strong in its caliber, this is a vehicle which truly punches above its weight. With the perfect combination of stunning design, technology and driving dynamics, the Punch will come equipped with superlative features and an architecture that has proven its versatility in all forms. True to the SUV genes of all Tata Motors’ products and catering to needs of customers who are looking for a compact city car with pure SUV characteristics, Punch will be the fourth addition to our SUV family, widening the range of options for all to choose from.

The Tata Punch will be the fourth SUV in its lineup, after the Safari, Harrier, and the Nexon. While we do not know anything about the prices and the equipment list of the car either, we can expect it to be priced within the Rs 5 to 7 lakh mark, rivaling the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite and the yet-unnamed upcoming Hyundai micro-SUV.
