Porsche Middle East and Africa’s newly-appointed CEO Dr Manfred Braunl has spoken about the brand’s plans for the coming months. Braunl heads the Dubai regional office that supports 20 countries and represents 65 facilities in the GCC (Gulf Cooperation council), Levant, Africa and India.
Speaking about the target audience for the Porsche brand, he says that they’re chiefly looking for a sportscar that isn’t necessarily restricted to the racetrack, and can be for use in more day-to-day scenarios. Additionally, he has noticed a growing preference for SUVs, and hence is expecting good response for the new Macan.

With regards to India, he says that it’s an interesting market with potential, and though frequent changes to the tax system have had an impact on the realisation of defined growth plans, 2019 will be one of the busiest years ever, with a new generation 911 on its way, the Panamera getting GTS variants, introduction of the Cayenne Coupe as well as the all-electric Taycan sportscar.
The current Porsche lineup in India consists of the 718 and 911 two-seater sportscars, the Macan and Cayenne SUVs and the Panamera four-door coupe.
