Alongside the new EQA, Mercedes-Benz India has also launched the new EQB. The price starts from Rs 70.90 lakh for which you get the 7-seater 250+ variant. But for the first time, the EQB will also be available with a 5-seater option as the 350 4Matic variant which costs Rs 77.5 lakh. Here’s a comprehensive look at the changes and offerings of the new Mercedes-Benz EQB facelift.

Mercedes-Benz EQB design

The facelifted EQB features a new grille panel adorned with Mercedes-Benz’s signature star pattern, aligning its design with the latest EVs like the recently launched EQA. The SUV also sports slightly revised bumpers and a new horizontal pattern for the full-width LED tail lamps, giving it a contemporary and bringing it closer to other members of the EQ family. The SUV comes with 19-inch AMG alloy wheels.

Mercedes-Benz EQB interiors

Inside, the EQB facelift continues the star-patterned design theme on the dashboard and door trim pieces, which are backlit just like the new EQA. The cabin also features Mercedes’ new touch-capacitive three-spoke steering wheel and offers the option of open-pore wood trim.

The updated EQB is equipped with the latest MBUX infotainment system, a Burmester sound system, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 360-degree camera, and level 2 ADAS. Notably, the EQB facelift is available in both 5-seat and 7-seat configurations, unlike the pre-facelift model, which only had a 7-seat option.

Mercedes-Benz EQB powertrain and performance

The EQB facelift is available in two trims: the EQB 250+ and the EQB 350 4Matic. The EQB 250+ features a 70.5kWh battery paired with a single electric motor mounted at the front, producing 187bhp and 385Nm of torque. The EQB 350 4Matic, on the other hand, boasts a dual-motor setup with a 66.5kWh battery and all-wheel drive, delivering a combined 288bhp and 520Nm of torque. This configuration allows the EQB 350 4Matic to accelerate from 0-100kmph in 6.2 seconds.

The EQB 250+ offers a claimed WLTP-certified range of up to 535km on a single charge, while the smaller battery pack in the EQB 350 4Matic provides up to 447km. The SUV supports fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 10-80 per cent in 35 minutes using a DC fast charger.

Mercedes-Benz EQB price and rivals

With a starting price of Rs 70.90 lakh, the facelifted EQB positions itself above the newly launched EQA in Mercedes-Benz’s EV lineup. Although the EQB currently has no direct rivals in the Indian market, it faces competition from similarly priced electric vehicles such as the Volvo XC40 Recharge and the BMW iX1. The new EQA is also a competitor to the EQB with the EQB costing just Rs 5 lakh more than the EQA.
