Mercedes-Benz has launched the Mercedes-AMG C63 S E Performance in India, and prices for the performance sedan start from ₹1.95 crore. The C63 is powered by a performance hybrid powertrain that consists of a 2-litre petrol engine at the front and an electric motor on the rear axle. The total power output of this setup is 670bhp and the power is sent to the wheels via a 9-speed transmission.
While it may look identical to the regular C-Class, the C63 S E Performance gets more aggressive elements in the styling, such as the AMG-specific grille with vertical struts and a narrow air outlet in the centre of the bonnet along with two power bulges. 19-inch alloy wheels are standard on the C63, while 20-inch wheels are available as an option. There are changes in terms of the dimensions too. The C63 S E is longer by 83mm and the wheelbase has grown by 10mm too. In addition to this, the front track width has also grown by 76mm. The front end of the sedan is also 50mm wider and the front wings are wider.
Step inside the cabin and there are multiple upholstery options that can be had for the AMG sports seats which are available as standard. These include nappa leather upholstery with the AMG crest embossed on the front head restraints. Also available as an option are the second-generation AMG Performance seats. You continue to get the MBUX infotainment system with its performance and hybrid-specific displays, the AMG Performance twin-spoke steering wheel, along with a HUD on the C63 S E, with AMG-specific display styles such as Race and Supersport. Also on offer with the C63 S E is the AMG Track Pace data logger, useful if you’re planning to take your C63 to the racetrack.
Powering the C63 S E Performance is a performance hybrid powertrain that consists of a 2-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine under the bonnet, and this engine is rated for a power output of 469bhp, making it the most powerful production four-cylinder engine in the world. This engine works in tandem with a permanently excited synchronous electric motor sitting on the rear axle and a high-performance battery – making for a system power output of 670bhp, along with 1020Nm of torque. This power is sent to the wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission and the fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system. Interestingly, this is also the first time that the Mercedes-AMG C-Class is fitted with active rear axle steering. When it comes to the performance, 0 to 100kmph comes up in 3.4 seconds, with the top speed is 280kmph. The sedan also gets an electric range of 13km, courtesy of the hybrid system.
Prices for the Mercedes-AMG C63 S E Performance start from ₹1.95 crore and bookings for the performance sedan have started today, with deliveries starting from Q2 of 2025. Owners of the Mercedes-AMG C63 S E Performance will also get driver training at the Nurburgring, likely to help them extract the maximum potential out of the performance sedan.
