You will have to wait just a little longer if you want to get your hands on the Jaguar I-Pace electric crossover, which was supposed to launch on March 9. The I-Pace will finally make its India debut on March 23, three years after its global roll out.
Bookings of the I-Pace were opened in November 2020, with Jaguar India also offering key details regarding its features and warranty. The I-Pace has a 90kWh lithium-ion battery with a WLTP-claimed 480Km range. It produces 394bhp and 696Nm, sent to all four wheels via two motors, for a 0-100kmph time of 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 200kmph.
The I-Pace will be available in three trim levels: S, SE and HSE. As standard, it gets LED head lights and tail lights, a full-length fixed glass roof, 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, a dual touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The top-level HSE variant gets additional features like the adaptive Matrix LED headlights, adaptive cruise control, a heads-up display, Windsor leather sport seats, a 16-speaker 825W Meridian sound system and a hands-free boot release.
Optional extras on the I-Pace will include adaptive air suspension, four-zone climate control, an ionizing air purifier , and a digital rear-view mirror.
As India currently lacks the infrastructure needed to support an EV, Jaguar India has teamed up with Tata Power, who currently have over 200 charging stations in 23+ cities pan-India, to provide charging solutions to all the I-Pace owners. Besides, owners will also get a 7.4 kWh wall mounted charger for home or office charging needs.
You don’t have to worry if your I-Pace ever goes wrong as an eight-year/ 1,60,000km warranty on the battery pack and Jaguar’s complimentary five-year service package which includes road side assistance is standard.
The only other EV that will compete against the Jaguar I-Pace upon its launch is the Mercedes-Benz EQC, though the Audi e-tron's launch is on the cards too. Besides, being a CBU just like the EQC, the Jaguar I-Pace is expected to cost around Rs 1 crore (ex-showroom).
