Royal Enfield has been around for a long time! 120 years to be precise. And to celebrate that, the brand is going to launch a new range of exclusive limited-edition helmets. What makes these helmets special are the hand-painted designs that mark the milestones and narrate the history of the iconic brand that Royal Enfield is.
The first of the 12 new helmets is called ‘The Original Royal Enfield’, which is priced at Rs 6950 and its design pays homage to the first-ever motorcycle from the brand showcased in London’s Stanley Cycle Show in November 1901. The next in line is a full-face helmet which is dedicated to the decade of 1910, will be launched on October 20 with a price tag of Rs 8450.
Following suit, two helmet designs will be unveiled every week (Monday and Wednesday) for the next six weeks with the sale going live on Saturday and Sunday at 12 noon for each week’s unveiling. The new and exclusive helmets will nod to the history of the brand’s 120 years of existence using the brand’s old posters and advertorials as their inspiration. Each design will be limited to 120 units and each will be numbered as well. Apart from the helmet, the package will also contain an actual poster from the respective decade which inspired the design of the helmet.
Speaking about the launch, Puneet Sood, National Business Head - North and West India & Global Head - Apparel Business - Royal Enfield, said, “Continuing on its journey of encouraging and kickstarting the active, lifelong pursuit of exploration, Royal Enfield is raising a toast to 120 years of being fiercely unique, riding with undeterred grit and resilience and the endless stories that riders have created on our motorcycles. These are the years that have made us who and what we are today. We understand that a helmet is the first and truly most important riding accessory that a rider buys, is very personal and is worn proudly. There could not have been a better canvas than a helmet for us to share stories from the last 120 years. These limited edition helmets not only cater to the safety, protection, comfort and style needs of riders but should also inspire the younger generation riders and non-riders to continue creating stories on their Royal Enfield motorcycles for many more years to come.”
Royal Enfield is actively working on the safety front, for example, its collaboration with Knox to provide the CE certified range of gear or with TCX to provide options for casual and riding footwear. Here as well, despite looking old school and having a simple design that harks back to yore, all of these helmets are carrying triple certification of ISI, DOT, ECE.
