Hero MotoCorp has expanded its portfolio of scooters with the launch of the Destini 125 Platinum edition. For the Rs 1600 price difference over the standard alloy wheel Destini 125, the Platinum gets updated dual tone paint schemes with matt black body colour and brown inner panels and some other aesthetic differences over the standard scooter. The Hero Destini 125 Platinum is rivalled by the likes of the TVS Jupiter, Honda Activa 6G and Suzuki Access 125.

Mechanically, the Destini 125 Platinum remains unchanged over the standard edition. Meaning, it gets the same 125cc BS6 compliant single-pot fuel-injected engine that makes 9bhp at 7000rpm and 10.4Nm of torque at 5500rpm. To improve fuel efficiency, the scooter gets Hero’s i3s (Idle-stop-start system) which shuts the bike when stopped and restarts as soon as you get going.

In terms of design, the Destini 125 Platinum edition gets chrome treatment on the handlebar ends, mirrors, muffler and fenders. It also gets ‘Platinum’ badging to set it apart from the standard variant. And, to top things off, it gets the aforementioned dual-tone paint scheme.

Commenting on the launch of the Hero Destini 125 Platinum edition, Malo Le Masson, head, strategy and global product planning, Hero MotoCorp, said “The Destini 125 is a key player in the 125cc segment and has gained recognition from customers since its launch. With the new Platinum edition, we are adding an elegant option to the Destini portfolio. Based on the overwhelming response to Pleasure+ Platinum edition, we are confident that Destini 125 Platinum edition will also be a success!”
