The drivers in the Ameo Class put on a commendable show at the MMRT with intense fights brewing up between Junior and Senior drivers. The second race of the Ameo Class round two had a reverse grid, with the top-12 best fastest drivers being reversed. This format put Harsh Sheth on pole with Avik Anwar joining him in the front row. Saurav Bandyopadhyay and Pratik Sonawane started in the back of the pack in 11th and 12th.

Avik got off to a better start than Harsh, pulling away cleanly before the first corner. By the end of lap two, both Pratik and Saurav had made their way past half a dozen drivers. The drivers in the middle of the pack had quite a chaotic race, with wheel to wheel contact and wheel lockups adding to the drama. Pratik was in great form, and had made his way up to third from 12th in a matter of 6 laps and was engaging in a heated duel with Saurav. Amidst all this, Avik quickly realises that his old set of tires are losing grip, and during the last two laps had given up on him. Saurav made his move, first on Pratik and then moving for Avik who was unable to hold his line. Pratik managed to pass Avik for the second place while Saurav took home a stellar victory.

Hyderabad’s Jeet Jhabakh and Bengaluru’s Chetan Sunineni were unable to finish the race due to technical issues (not confirmed). Pratik Sonawane is currently on the top of the Ameo Class leaderboard.
