The 2021 ABB FIA Formula E season is coming to an end with two races remaining in the calendar. The location of the decisive weekend is chosen to be the streets of Berlin. The Berlin E-Prix circuit is 2.375km long coupled with 16 tight turns which guarantees an exciting race. With that said, we move our attention to the only Indian Team on the FE grid. Mahindra Racing is in an interesting situation in the constructor championship table where a good result or a bad one can decide the fate of their finishing position. The Indian team currently stands P7 in the constructor table with 122 points while their rivals stand within touching distance of each other. Moreover, Mahindra Racing driver, Alex Lynn stands P6 in the drivers championship table with 78 points, but there are a lot of sharks in the water.

Indian team Mahindra Racing currently holds P7 in the constructor championship table with 122 points

Mahindra Racing had a rocky start to the 2021 season with a few DNFs and race finishes outside the points. But at the same time, the team performed like a well-oiled machine in the other races which got them the 122 points in the season. Now, their position in the championship table lands them into a tricky and decisive place as a good result from the weekend could earn them the P4 position. Currently, DS Techeetah are holding strong at the P4 position with 148 points, but there are a lot of teams within striking distance to that spot. BMW I Andretti Motorsport trail by 143 points in P5, Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler in P6 with 134 points, Indian team Mahindra Racing holds P7 with 122 points and finally, Tag Heuer Porsche Formula E Team lurking behind in P8 with 116 points. There are still 60 points up for grabs in the final two races of the season, so the fight can go in any direction.

Alex Lynn is in a tight squeeze in the drivers championship at P6 on the table with 78 points

Meanwhile, Alex Lynn is also in a similar situation in the drivers championship after his win and podium finish in the two races at London. He currently stands P6 in the table with 78 points but mathematically, he has the chance to finish in P2 or even win the drivers championship if things go according to plan for him and Mahindra Racing. There are eleven drivers in contention for the top place in the drivers championship table, and that just shows how close the racing in Formula E can be. Currently Nyck De Vries (Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team) leads the championship with 95 points and Robin Frijns (Envision Virgin Racing) trails in P2 with 89 points. The fight for the drivers title is closer than ever and Mahindra Racing has to perform in both the races in order to keep or improve their positions in the championship tables.

A good result for Mahindra Racing is crucial as its competitors are in close contention to pick up places in the championship

Mahindra Racing has a good history on the Berlin E-Prix track. They have finished mostly in the top 10 bracket and their best result at Berlin came at the 2017 Berlin E-Prix where ex Mahindra Racing drivers Felix Rosenqvist and Nick Heidfeld came home P1 and P3 respectively. It will be interesting to see if Mahindra Racing can replicate the 2017 results in the next two races of the season. Fanboost voting is currently open for the fans to give their drivers that much needed extra power in the race.
