Maserati MSG Racing has officially announced its driver lineup for the FIA Formula E World Championship's Season 10. The team has decided to keep Maximilian Gunther while also introducing a young talent, Jehan Daruvala, to the Formula E grid. This follows the departure of Edoardo Mortara from the Maserati MSG Racing team, which was announced a few weeks ago.

Jehan Daruvala, a 24-year-old Indian racer, is set to make his Formula E debut after participating in two rookie test sessions in 2023. Daruvala's racing career advanced significantly with a breakout 2019 season in FIA Formula 3. In 2020, he advanced to Formula 2, where he racked up four race wins and 18 podium finishes. He has been competing in Formula 2 since, and was a reserve driver for Mahindra Racing for Season 9 of Formula E, gaining valuable experience in the electric racing series.

Jehan Daruvala, upon his appointment as Maserati MSG Racing's team driver, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “I've been around as a reserve driver for most rounds around this year. Honestly, I was always itching to get on track as a racing driver. Formula E is very different from what I've been doing in the past in all my other junior formulas, so there was a lot for me to learn. So being on the sidelines for one season was quite good. I learned quite a lot behind the scenes, and I'm looking very much forward to being a race driver and an official driver for the next season.”

We got to have a chat with Jehan Daruvala who gets candid about how he feels about this shift from F2 to Formula E, how he is going to have to adapt his style, his goals for the season, his strengths and challenges, and coming to grips with the Gen 3 Formula E car. Read it here.

Both Max Gunther and Jehan Daruvala will take part in pre-season testing at Valencia's Circuit Ricardo Tormo from October 23 to 27 to fine-tune their preparations for the challenges of the 2023-24 season.

Season 10 of the FIA Formula E World Championship is set to be the longest season in series history, with a brand-new race in Tokyo, Japan. The 2023-24 Formula E World Championship will begin on January 13, 2024, with the Mexico City E-Prix. Last year, India hosted the Hyderabad e-Prix however, there is no official announcement of the series returning to India just yet. We should know after the full calendar is revealed in October.
