Arafath Sheikh places third in race 1 of Rotax National Championship 2020

The Pune kid got off to a promising start for the 2020 Rotax national championship

MSport’s Arafath Sheikh, the eight-year-old karting sensation from Pune got off to a good start for the 2020 Rotax National Championship by finishing third, just 21 seconds behind the race leader, Ishaan Madesh. The Rotax National Karting championship comprises five rounds with four races each and is held at the Meco Kartopia in Bangalore. With a total of 20 races, the event has over 50 budding racers from across the country vying for the top honours. Further, in a grid where the next competitor is at least five years older than him, Arafath has managed to rise to the occasion and grab valuable points for the team with a P3 finish.

Offical lap times

Arafath Sheikh made his racing debut at the age of six, with the international lAME X30 United Arab Emirates championship where he finished second. So we recommend you watch this space to stay up to date on the travails of this eight-year-old hopeful at the 2020 National Karting Championship.
