Alexander Sims joins Mahindra Racing for the 2020/2021 Formula E season

Alexander will replace Jerome D’Ambrosio, who will leave the team this year, after having competed with Mahindra Racing for two years

Mahindra Racing, the only Indian team which competes in the ABB Formula E world championship, has signed Alexander Sims for the seventh Formula E season.

Alexander is currently part of BMW i Andretti Motorsport, where he grabbed two podiums and a race win in Saudi. He is also the first driver in Formula E to take three poles in a row, one in New York, followed by two in Saudi. He has been a key player in the development stages of Formula E as a test driver in 2014.

Besides Formula E, Alex has umpteen road racing experience, including victory at the 2016 Total 24 hours of Spa, runner-up in the 2015 British GT and 2017 ADAC 24 hours of the ‘ring.

Jerome D’Ambrosia will end his stint with Mahindra this season, after bagging the top spot in Marrakesh in his two years with the team.
