Gaurav Gill and Musa Sherif clinch the 2019 Dakshin Dare Rally title

Team Mahindra Adventure and Harjee Racing battled it out for the top honours at the 2019 Dakshin Dare Rally

Team Mahindra Adventure has taken the top honours at the 2019 Dakshin Dare Rally. India’s top rally driver Gaurav Gill along with co-driver Musa Sherif won the rally with a total run time of 04:51:49 (hh:mm:ss) in the Mahindra Super XUV500.

Tough fight from Team Harjee Racing

Even though Team Mahindra Adventure secured the top spot, Team Harjee Racing dominated the top ten. Anil Wadiya with co-driver A.G. Somayya finished second overall in their rally spec Gypsy while Harvinder Bhola and Chirag Thakur, also in a rally-spec Gypsy finished third overall. In the top ten, a total of five positions were secured by Harjee Racing drivers. Meanwhile, Amittrajit Ghosh and Ashwin Naik finished at the 9th spot for Team Mahindra Adventure.

South India’s longest rally

The Dakshin Dare is South India’s longest rally and is one of the most gruesome rallies in the country. This year it was flagged off from Bengaluru and ended at Hubli after three days of high-octane action. Maruti Suzuki is not sponsoring the event anymore while Bengaluru based motorsport club, Motorsport Inc. continues to organize it.
