Don’t get thrown off your flow

Going to a new track for the first time brings with it equal amounts of excitement and anticipation. We’ve done a lot of hours on the simulator back at the factory in Banbury, and we know the track layout, but nothing can fully prepare you for that first lap.

This is a flowing circuit where each corner leads straight into the next. This means if you don’t quite hit the first correctly, it can throw you offline and your lap is totally ruined. This puts a lot of pressure on the driver and will make qualifying and the Duels extra intense.

The other pressure for us this weekend will be the heat. Of course, for us drivers its tough being in full race suits and helmets in high temperatures, but the team also has to work very hard in hot and humid conditions with no time for rest between sessions. Aside from the human impact, we will have to monitor and manage the Mahindra M8Electro’s battery temperatures – if they overheat, our race will be over.

Keep an eye on the Mahindra Racing social channels to follow our performance over the weekend and to see exclusive and behind the scenes content.
