Jawa-Yezdi Motorcycles has launched the Jawa 350 at Rs 2.14 lakh with an all-new Mystique Orange paint option. It now gets the 334cc liquid-cooled engine from the Perak and 42 Bobber, an assist and slip clutch, taller stance with a seat height of 790mm and 178mm ground clearance. The pricing is aggressive and undercuts its direct rival, the Royal Enfield Classic 350.
The Jawa 350 looks very similar to its outgoing Jawa in terms of design and styling. It stands taller now with a seat height of 790mm compared to the previous one at 765mm. A result of that is that the ground clearance is a higher 178mm compared to 165mm earlier. It gets three paint options – Mystique Orange (new), Black and Maroon with polished chrome and golden pinstripes. The tyres have an 18-inch front and a 17-inch rear wheel, with disc brakes at either end and dual-channel ABS sourced and calibrated by Continental. The bike weighs 194kg now compared to 182kg earlier and the wheelbase is significantly longer at 1,449mm compared to 1,368mm.
The Jawa 350 gets the 334cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine from the Perak and the Bobber 42, but has its own tune and makes 22.5bhp and 28.1Nm. The aim is to provide a torquey low-end and mid-range. The outgoing Jawa had a 294cc engine that put out 27bhp and 26Nm, so, the horsepower has decreased by 4.5bhp but there's a 2.1Nm increase in torque. It gets twin exhausts and a 6-speed gearbox as earlier and an assist and slip clutch.
