Tata Motors has updated the Nexon EV Max XZ+ Lux variant, which starts at Rs 18.79 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This updated version will now have Harman’s 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, along with a few other features. The car hasn't undergone any other mechanical changes; it still uses the same drivetrain as the previous Nexon EV Max model.
This new infotainment system will support wireless connectivity for CarPlay and Android Auto, a high-definition reversing camera, and a better sound system. Along with a new user interface, the new system will have a voice assistant that can operate in six languages and accept 180+ voice commands in English, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, and Marathi.
Under the hood, the car is still the same. It will continue to be run on Tata Ziptron technology. The battery pack will be a 40.5kWh lithium-ion battery, which is 33 per cent larger than the standard Nexon EV. The bigger battery helps it claim a better range. The ARAI-certified range of the Tata Nexon EV Max is 437km, compared to the regular version's claimed range of 312km. The Tata Nexon EV Max has a maximum power output of 141bhp and a maximum torque output of 250Nm which allows it to sprint from 0 to 100kmph in less than 9 seconds.
Like all previous models, the Nexon EV Max XZ+ Lux will be available with a 3.3kW or 7.2kW fast charger option. The XZ+ Lux trim costs Rs 18.79 lakh, which is Rs. 30,000 more than the outgoing model. The XZ+ Lux trim with a 7.2 kW fast charger, which previously retailed at Rs 18.99 lakh, now costs Rs 19.29 lakh after the updates. However, the prices of the Dark variants remain unchanged. The Dark XZ+ Lux trim costs Rs 19.04 lakh, and the Dark XZ+ Lux trim with a 7.2 kW fast charger costs Rs 19.54 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).
