Earlier this month, Tata Motors announced that they will be launching the Nexon EV in 2020 and continuing their push towards an all-electric future, they have today unveiled the extended range Tigor EV. The new version comes with an ARAI certified range of 213km as opposed to the earlier 142km range. The prices will start at Rs 9.44 lakh and will be available in 3 variants XE+, XM+ and XT+.

The electric stuff

The Tigor EV now gets a 21.5 kWh battery pack that helps it get a much longer range than the previous model. There is also work done to the battery cooling system to make it perform well in varying weather conditions.
The car will support normal AC charging as well as DC fast charging that can juice up the battery to 80 per cent in just 90 minutes. The car is powered by a 72 V 3-phase AC induction motor that makes 40bhp and 105Nm of torque.

Features

The Tigor EV will come in 3 trim levels namely XE+, XM+ and XT+. The Tigor EV will get EV specific decals on the outside, reworked front grille and different alloys. On the inside the car gets a black & grey interior, Harman sound system and a height adjustable driver seat.
The Tigor EV comes with airbags as standard (single on XE+, dual on XM+ and XT+) and ABS and gets a warranty of 3 years/1.25 lakh km.

The Tigor EV will start from Rs 9.44 lakh (ex-showroom) after deducting government subsidies. The car will be available across 30 cities in three colour options: white, silver and blue and is available for both fleet owners as well as individual customers.
