Kicking off 2022 on a good note is Skoda India, having first launched the Kodiaq, and now, the Skoda Slavia 1.5 TSI has finally been launched just days after the launch of the Slavia 1.0 TSI, and it can be had with the seven-speed DSG transmission along with the six-speed manual that’s already on offer. Available only in the top-end Style trim, the prices for the Slavia 1.5 TSI start from Rs 16.19 lakh (all prices ex-showroom) with the manual transmission, while the Style DSG is priced at Rs 17.79 lakh.

Skoda Slavia 1.5 TSI Design

By now, you must already be familiar with the Slavia’s design, which you can also read about in detail by clicking here. That said, the Slavia has been designed quite well, and it’s nice to see a new mid-size sedan after so long. The Slavia has traces of the current-gen Octavia if you look at it from the front, while the overall profile looks like a notchback, even though the Slavia isn’t one. Over the rear, you can spot the tail-lamps which keep the Slavia in line with the rest of the Skoda lineup, while the tailgate features the Skoda lettering as well. The catch, however, is that there’s absolutely no way to differentiate between the 1-litre and the 1.5-litre Slavia, as there are no badges, or no varying design elements.

Under the hood of the 1.5 Slavia is, well, the same 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol powertrain which has impressed us quite a bit in the Kushaq. Power outputs are the same as before, with 148bhp and 250Nm of torque on offer. Much like the Kushaq, this powertrain on the Slavia also features Active Cylinder Technology which shuts down two cylinders when there’s not much load. Skoda claims the Slavia can hit triple digits in just 8.8 seconds. Want to know how this powertrain performs in the real-world? Click here to find out.

Skoda Slavia 1.5 TSI Equipment and Interiors

In terms of safety, the Slavia packs in six airbags, hill-hold, cruise control, ABS, electronic stability control, and a tyre-pressure monitor among others.

Skoda Slavia 1.5 TSI Prices

The Skoda Slavia 1.5 TSI can be had only in the top-end Style trim, which receives a six-speed manual and a seven-speed DSG transmission. The Style 1.5 MT is priced at Rs 16.19 lakh, commanding a premium of Rs 2.2 lakh over the Style 1.0 MT. Meanwhile the 1.5 DSG can be had for Rs 17.79 lakh, which is Rs 2.4 lakh more than the 1.0 DSG.
