Skoda launches ‘Corporate Edition’s of the Kodiaq and Superb

The Skoda Kodiaq Corporate Edition and the Superb Corporate Edition will be available at an introductory ex-showroom price of Rs 32.99 lakhs and Rs 25.99 lakhs respectively. This makes the corporate editions of the Superb and the Kodiaq more affordable than the Style variants by Rs 1.8 lakh and Rs 2.37 lakh. The Kodiaq will be available in the 2.0TDI 4x4 AT guise while the Superb gets the option of a 1.8 TSI as well as the 2.0 TDI both equipped with DSG transmissions.

Engines

The 2.0 TDI engine in the Kodiaq produces 147bhp and 340Nm of torque. The Superb gets two options the 1.8 TSI engine which generates 177bhp and 250Nm of torque and a 2.0 TDI that makes 174bhp and 350Nm of torque. These are mechanically identical to the engines used in other variants of the Superb and Kodiaq. The Corporate Editions are only available with DSG gearboxes.

Safety

In terms of safety, the Kodiaq comes standard with nine airbags, fatigue alert system, ‘Multi-Collision Brake’ which reduces vehicle movement after a crash to reduce chances of another impact. The Superb gets eight airbags and Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS).

Both cars also come with various electronic assists such as Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Hydraulic Brake Assistant (HBA), Anti Slip Regulation (ASR), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), among others.

Equipment

Both cars get three zone climate control, electric front seats with memory, an eight inch infotainment system with a  touchscreen display supporting MirrorLink, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Both cars come with electronic front seats with memory function.

Pricing and Availability

Unlike earlier, the Corporate editions are not restricted to existing owners. Prospective buyers who have never owned a Skoda can purchase them too. The Kodiaq 2.0 TDI all-wheel-drive DSG will start at Rs 32.99 lakh and will be available in four colour options ‘Quartz Grey’, ‘Moon White’, ‘Lava Blue’, and ‘Magic Black’. The Superb 1.8 TSI DSG will start at Rs 25.99 lakh while the 2.0 TDI DSG is priced at Rs 28.49 lakh.
