Renault India has launched the RXL mid-level variant as an addition to the existing lineup of the Kwid in India The Kwid RXL can be had for Rs 4.16 lakh for the manual transmission and Rs 4.48 lakh for the AMT, making it the most affordable BS6-compliant two-pedal car at the moment. Renault also shared the revised prices of the Kwid, along with the news of the Kwid crossing the 3.5-lakh sales milestone in India.
The BS6-compliant Kwid RXL stays almost completely unchanged from the other variants. It shares everything from the LED headlights to the larger 14-inch tyres and better 184mm ground clearance to the interiors with the flat-bottom ’wheel and floor-mounted AMT selector dial, to finally the 1-litre petrol engine with the facelifted version from last year. At the moment, the Kwid only counts the Datsun Redi-Go and Maruti Suzuki S-Presso as its rivals.
What’s new, however, are the offers Renault is providing to potential customers, chief among them the ‘Buy Now Pay Later’ scheme so customers can buy a Renault car and start paying their EMI only after three months. The offer can be availed either at the dealership, the Renault India website or the My Renault App. There are also offers across the product range including cash offers, exchange benefits and finance at a special rate of 8.25 per cent. These are complemented by additional loyalty offers for its existing customers. Renault India has also rolled out additional benefits for doctors and Police personnel under its ‘Care for Caregivers’ program, as a gesture to gratitude towards professionals engaged in fighting the Covid-19 battle in India.
Speaking about the initiatives the brand is running to bring in prospective customers, Venkatram Mamillapalle, Country CEO & Managing Director, Renault India Operations, said, “In the post lockdown scenario, there may be a considerable demand shift from public transport to customers considering the mini car segment, due to the new normal norms anticipated. In the context of the current situation, a car provides an even more secure environment for family travel and KWID being a very successful product with a strong customer base, may see strong customer preference. Hence, we are making our products and financial offerings even more accessible to new car aspirers.”
