Porsche India has officially announced prices for the updated Cayenne SUV in India with a starting price of Rs 1.35 crore. If you go for the Coupe you will have to pay Rs 1.41 crore (ex-showroom). Porsche will also likely offer e-hybrid versions of both SUVs but the prices haven’t been announced yet. The facelifted Cayenne was recently unveiled at the Shanghai motor show and comes with reworked styling, interiors, and features.
The updated Cayenne features new HD matrix LED headlights inspired by the Taycan, with Porsche's signature four-element light design. The front bumper has been redesigned and looks more aggressive as compared to the previous model. The lower grille along with the LED light strips have also been updated. On the rear, a similar pattern can be seen with the revised rear bumpers and taillight. A new rear apron with an integrated number plate holder characterises the rear-end design. You get 20-inch rims as standard with an option of 21-inch and 22-inch wheels. In terms of exterior options, you can get front skid plates and roof rails. Porsche also gives an option for blacked-out elements like grille, window linings, and door levers.
The interior has been updated as well. The big changes are a revised cabin architecture with improved functionality and new tech. The Cayenne features a 12.6-inch digital instrument cluster and a steering wheel that is derived from the new 911’s. The drive mode selector and display mode switches are now integrated into the steering wheel. A second high-resolution 12.3-inch display is used for the infotainment and you get a third optional passenger display which has the functionality to play videos while the car is on the move. You get a wireless charger and eight-way electrically adjustable seats as standard. Beyond that, you get several options in terms of colours, seats, and materials but these come at a cost.
The Cayenne comes with a 3-litre V6 turbo engine. It now generates 348bhp and 500Nm, which is 13bhp and 50Nm more than before. The Cayenne Coupe also gets the same drivetrain option. The six-cylinder engine forms the basis for the powertrain of the e-hybrid models. In combination with a new electric motor that has been improved by 40bhp to 174bhp, the combined output increases to 464bhp.
Porsche has priced the Cayenne at Rs 1.35 crore (ex-showroom) which is Rs 8 lakh more than the previous gen Cayenne. The coupe is priced at Rs 1.41 crore (ex-showroom) and prices are yet to be announced for the e-hybrid models. In terms of rivals, the Porsche Cayenne competes with other luxury SUVs like the Mercedes-Benz GLS, BMW X7 and Audi Q8.
