Earlier this year, Lexus India had given us a hint of what was going to be the next product in its portfolio, and now it has finally arrived on the scene. The Lexus NX350h has been launched, with prices starting from Rs 64.9 lakh, and three variants on offer, namely the Exquisite, Luxury, and the F-Sport. The NX350h comes in as a more powerful offering from the NX300h, while also sporting styling cues to differentiate it from the NX300h. Talking of its rivals, the NX350h goes up against the BMW X3, Audi Q5, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and the Volvo XC60 but doesn’t really have a direct rival as none of these other SUVs offer a proper hybrid drivetrain.
Lexus NX350h Design
The NX350h retains the same silhouette as the NX300h, but Lexus has given it important design tweaks to differentiate it from its smaller sibling. For example, the DRL has been shifted and is now integrated above the headlamp, while the grille receives a new pattern with smaller vertical slats. The side profile also looks fresher thanks to the reworked doors. Move over to the rear and you’ll notice new full-length tail lights which receive a simpler design compared to the sharper units of the NX300h.
Lexus NX350h Powertrain
Under the hood, the Lexus NX350h packs the same 2.5-litre petrol mill coupled with a self-charging hybrid system from the NX300h but it churns more power than its smaller sibling. placed on the front axle, the NX350h extracts a combined 241bhp. In terms of the torque, the combustion powertrain puts out a maximum of 239Nm of torque, while the electric motor produces 270Nm of torque. Sending power to all four wheels is an e-CVT transmission.
Lexus NX350h Interiors and Equipment
The Lexus NX350h packs in plenty of equipment on offer, which includes safety features as well, but we’ll get there later. Some of the equipment the NX350h receives includes a colour head-up display, a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system, electronically-folding rear seats, 64-colour ambient lighting, a 17-speaker Mark Levinson surround sound system, and more. The Lexus NX350h also incorporates an electronic door latch system, which makes use of a push-button instead of a door handle to open and close the doors of your car. The exterior retains the door handle, but there is a push-button hidden behind it.
The NX350h packs the Lexus Safety System+, which includes safety kit such as pre-collision system, dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure alert, lane tracing assist, and adaptive headlamps.
Lexus NX350h Prices and Variants
Pre-bookings for the Lexus NX350h had already begun back in January, and now it has been launched with three different variants to choose from. The lineup starts from the Exquisite variant which is priced at Rs 64.9 lakh, followed by the Luxury variant priced at Rs 69.5 lakh, and lastly the F-Sport variant which can be had for Rs 71.6 lakh. It goes up against the likes of the BMW X3 (Rs 59.9 lakh), Audi Q5 (Rs 58.93 lakh), Volvo XC60 (Rs 63.50 lakh) and the Mercedes-Benz GLC (Rs 61 lakh).
