Land Rover Discovery Metropolitan Edition launched, prices start from Rs 1.26 crore

Two launches in the luxury segment today, talk about monday blues! Land Rover has launched the Discovery Metropolitan Edition with prices starting from Rs 1.26 crore (ex-showroom), which is a bump of about Rs 38 crore more than its base variant. The Metropolitan Edition is being offered in both diesel and petrol powertrains, and also claims the top spot over the R-Dynamic HSE trim in the Discovery lineup.

What’s new in the Land Rover Discovery Metropolitan Edition?

The Land Rover Discovery Metropolitan Edition receives exterior and interior tweaks to differentiate it from its lower trim levels. The grille receives Bright Atlas finish while the front and rear bumper get Hakuba Silver inserts. It also sports 20-inch Satin Dark Grey alloy wheels.

In terms of the equipment, the Discovery Metropolitan Edition receives a sliding front sunroof, a fixed panoramic fixed glass roof at the rear, four-zone climate control and wireless charging with phone signal booster over the R-Dynamic HSE. Additionally, you also get a 12.3-inch interactive instrument cluster, a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Pivi Pro, a 700W Meridian 14-speaker sound system with a dual-channel subwoofer, powered tailgate, electronic air suspension, wade sensing, a 360-degree camera, automatic headlamp leveling, and adaptive cruise control among others.

Land Rover is offering the Discovery Metropolitan Edition with a choice of two powertrains — a 3-litre petrol churning out 296bhp and 650Nm of torque, and a 3-litre diesel that produces 355bhp and 500Nm of torque.

At a price tag of Rs 1.26 crore, the Discovery Metropolitan Edition is quite a step up from the regular Discovery, placing it in the territory of the Mercedes-Benz GLS, BMW X7, and the Audi Q7. Follow our social media handles for more news!
