Kia Motors has just revealed the first images of the next-generation Sorento SUV. The fourth-generation Sorento SUV will debut at the 2020 Geneva International Motor Show on March 3. The Sorento sits right in the middle of Kia’s SUV line up, it is positioned between the Seltos, Sportage and the Telluride. Kia Motors have said that the development and design of the new Sorento was a global effort between all of their studios based in Korea, Europe and North America.

If Kia Motors decides to launch the Sorento in India, it would go up against the likes of the Skoda Kodiaq

The new Sorento gets a sharper more refined design language and fits in with the rest of the Kia portfolio. It also gets a more swept-back and elongated side profile as compared to the previous generation. Keeping in line with Kia Motors' current Tiger theme the Sorento gets the traditional ‘tiger-nose’ grille that is larger and more prominent, with the headlamps integrated on the side. The Headlamp cluster also gets a ‘tiger eye’ shaped LED day time running light.

The interiors of the new Sorento gets all-new trims with some metallic trim, leather upholstery and embossed wood surfaces. It also gets a new 12.3-inch high-resolution digital instrument cluster that provides all the vehicle information to the driver and a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system for audio-visual and navigation functions.

The Sorento is most likely to get two engine options that are a 202hp, 2.2-litre diesel engine and a 230hp hybrid powertrain with a 1.6-litre petrol engine, a 60hp electric motor and a 1.5kWh battery. We will have to wait and see if Kia Motors decides to launch the Sorento in India, it would go up against the likes of the Skoda Kodiaq. After the success of the Carnival launch, it might be possible Kia will get in another premium product that could become its new flagship offering.
