Jeep has launched two new special editions of the Meridian, with additional styling and equipment named the Meridian X and the Meridian Upland, where the former is more urban focussed while the latter is more focused towards adventure. The special edition variants will start at Rs 33.41 lakhs and go up to Rs 38.47 lakhs for the top-end model depending upon the type of accessories that a buyer chooses.
Common to both the special editions are side steps, ambient lighting, unique floor mats along with the panoramic sunroof, Uconnect 5 infotainment system and the 4x4 system. The difference comes in other details. The Meridian X is positioned for urban dwellers. Unique to the X variant is the body-coloured cladding and side mouldings. Jeep has also given it puddle lamps and a grey roof. The Meridian Upland on the other hand is for the off-road enthusiast. It gets multiple off-road-specific features such as a functional roof carrier, a hood decal, splash guards, boot organisers, sunshades, cargo mats and a tyre inflator. Jeep India is offering two new colours with this update namely Silvery Moon and Galaxy Blue.
Jeep hasn’t made any changes to the engine and mechanical package and the Meridian continues to run the 2-litre turbo-diesel with 168bhp and 350Nm that does 0-100kmph in 10.8 seconds with a claimed top speed of 198kmph. Jeep offers these models with a 9-speed automatic gearbox as standard.
