Fairstreet Sports, the promoter of MotoGP in India, have dismissed the rumours floating around stating that the 2024 IndianGP would be cancelled because they have not paid their partial dues to MotoGP right holders Dorna.

Fairstreet Sports and the Uttar Pradesh government have informed Dorna that the payment would be made after election results are out on June 4, 2024. Well, why do you ask? That's because Invest UP, the major sponsor of the sport in India, falls under the Government Audit, and it has to abide by the Model Code of Conduct. The promoter has informed Dorna of this predicament.

Pushkar Nath Srivastava, Fairstreet Sports CEO, has told the Press Trust of India (PTI) that, “The race is very much on. These are just rumours floating around. All of the contractual obligations will be met in June." Moreover, from 2024 onwards, it has also been learned that the UP state government will join Fairstreet Sports in organising the race.

The Uttar Pradesh government had provided a financial assistance of ₹18 crore to Fairstreet Sports for the inaugural IndianGP. In March, the government had asked local promoters for a detailed report on utilisation of funds provided for the event. The report for which has been submitted now.

From the second season onwards, it has been learned that the state government will join Fairstreet Sports in organising the race. "It will be a tripartite agreement with the Uttar Pradesh government, Fairstreet Sports and Dorna," a source revealed.
