The veteran commuter from Hero MotoCorp has been carrying on for a long time, and has been given an update. Hero has given the Splendor+ an XTEC variant, making it the fourth model in Hero’s lineup after the Glamour, Pleasure, and the Destini. The Hero Splendor+ XTEC receives new equipment and slight design tweaks, possibly to combat threats from the TVS Radeon. Prices for the Splendor+ begin from Rs 72,900 (ex-showroom).
What’s new in the Hero Splendor+ XTEC?
The Hero Splendor+ XTEC retains the basic design that makes it instantly recognizable, especially with the semi-fairing up front which now houses a small LED strip. That said, the motorcycle does receive new graphics and four new paint schemes. The biggest change is in the equipment list — the Splendor+ XTEC ditches analogue dials for a digital instrument cluster, and also features smartphone pairing via bluetooth connectivity, showing call and message alerts, along with real-time fuel efficiency. It also gets two trip meters, side-stand engine cut-off, and bank angle sensor which detects when the bike is about to fall, and cuts off the engine.
Mechanically, the Splendor+ XTEC remains identical to the standard Splendor+, retaining the trusted 97.2cc mill which produces 7.9bhp and 8.05Nm of torque.
The Hero Splendor+ XTEC goes up against the TVS Radeon, Bajaj Platina 100, and the Honda CD110 Dream Deluxe. Stay tuned for our review of the Hero Splendor+ 110 XTEC!
