BMW India is gearing up for a couple of interesting launches this year, one of which is the electric i4 bound to come soon. However, the Bavarian car maker has also now launched the X4 Silver Shadow Edition, prices for which start at Rs 71.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The X4 Silver Shadow Edition is being offered in both petrol and diesel guise, the latter of which can be had for Rs 73.90 lakh. This new variant costs Rs 1.4 lakh more than the regular X4, which is priced at Rs 70.50 lakh.
What’s new in the BMW X4 Silver Shadow Edition?
The X4 Silver Shadow Edition sports some design tweaks and new interior upholstery, while the rest of the car remains unchanged mechanically. Let’s talk about the new bits first. The kidney grille now receives chrome treatment and the bumpers are finished in shadow metallic, along with high-gloss chrome inserts. There are also three new paint schemes to choose from — Phytonic Blue, Carbon Black, and Alpine White. The interiors retain the Aluminium Rhombicle dark interior trim, but it now receives Vernasca leather upholstery in a shade of Mocha instead of black.
In terms of what’s under the hood, you’ll find the same 2-litre petrol and 3-litre diesel powertrains — the 2-litre petrol puts out 248bhp and 350Nm of torque, while the 3-litre diesel puts out 261bhp and 620Nm of torque. Click here to read our review of the BMW X4 xDrive 30d.
The X4 Silver Shadow Edition also retains the same equipment list as the standard X4, which means you get BMW Live Cockpit Professional with a 12.3-inch instrument display, a head-up display system, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with BMW Operating System 7, adaptive LED headlights, iDrive, 3D navigation, parking assistant, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, cornering brake control, stability control, traction control, and BMW’s personal assistant among others.
The BMW X4 Silver Shadow Edition can be had in two guises — the xDrive30i which is priced at Rs 71.90 lakh, and the xDrive30d which can be had for Rs 73.90 lakh. The X4 mainly goes up against the Mercedes-AMG GLE Coupe, but it also rivals the likes of the Porsche Macan and Jaguar F-Pace.
