After the M340i and the 6 Series, the 5 Series is the third model to get a 50 Jahre variant as part of BMW’s celebration of its motorsport division’s 50th anniversary. The BMW 530i M Sport 50 Jahre M Edition has been launched, and with prices starting from Rs 67.5 lakh (ex-showroom), the special edition Bimmer costs Rs 3.5 lakh than the standard 5 Series.

What’s new on the BMW 530i M Sport 50 Jahre M Edition?

The BMW 530i M Sport 50 Jahre M Edition gets cosmetic tweaks over the standard 5 Series for a more sporty look while retaining the same mechanical package. As a result, the 5 Series gets BMW Motorsport badging on various exterior elements, including the wheel hubcaps, along with a gloss black finish for areas such as the kidney grille, front bumper, window surround, ORVMs, and exhaust tips. The 18-inch M alloy wheels are done in a tasteful shade of jet black, and you also get red brake calipers for that added dose of sportiness. The 530i M Sport 50 Jahre M Edition receives four paint schemes on offer — Carbon Black, Phytonic Blue, Alpine White, and Bernia Grey Amber Effect.

The equipment list remains identical to the 530i M Sport trim, which means the 5 Series M Sport 50 Jahre M Edition receives a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, park and reverse assist, 12.3-inch infotainment display and instrument cluster, getsure control, four-zone climate control, and more. However, the 50 Jahre M Edition sees the addition of BMW Laserlight headlamps over the adaptive LED headlamps of the standard 5 Series. The interiors are swathed in Sensatec upholstery in a shade of Cognac with contrast stitching.

Under the hood, the 530i M Sport 50 Jahre M Edition retains the same 2-litre twin-turbo inline four-cylinder powertrain mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and producing 244bhp and 350Nm of torque.

The BMW 530i M Sport 50 Jahre M Edition is priced at Rs 67.5 lakh (ex-showroom), and can be pitted against the likes of the Audi A6, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, and the Volvo S90. Since this is a limited-edition model, you should hurry up before BMW runs out of stock!
