Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has launched the 2023 Honda Dio scooter in the country, featuring OBD2 compliance. With a starting price of ₹70,211 (ex-showroom Delhi), this new Dio model comes equipped with features like the Honda Smart Key, along with the unique Honda ACG starter, and much more. The 2023 Honda Dio scooter introduces notable design updates, including redesigned front end and a distinctive LED position lamp. The design enhancements also include a modern tail lamp design, complemented by sleek alloy wheels, a split grab rail, a sharper Dio logo, and revised new graphics. It has a two-lid fuel opening system, and 18 litres of storage space.
The higher variants of the 2023 Honda Dio now feature new alloy wheels, however, the rest of the hardware remains unchanged. The scooter continues to utilise telescopic front forks and a three-step preload adjustable rear suspension, providing effective shock absorption capabilities. For braking, it is equipped with 130cc drum brakes on both the front and rear wheels. The Dio rides on 12-inch front and 10-inch rear wheels, fitted with tubeless tires. Notable dimensions include a 5.3-litre fuel tank, 160mm of ground clearance, and a kerb weight of 105kg.
Powering the 2023 Dio is a 110cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, known for Honda's silent start technology. This engine delivers a power output of 7.75bhp and a torque of 9Nm. Equipped with Enhanced Smart Power (ESP) and Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI). This engine is now E20 fuel compatible.
The 2023 Dio has also been equipped with H-Smart technology. This advanced technology brings a host of features to the scooter, including remote find, remote unlock, keyless start, and an anti-theft system, enhancing convenience and security for riders.
Furthermore, the 2023 Dio now features a new digital cluster that provides essential information such as the distance to empty range, average fuel efficiency, real-time fuel efficiency figure, service due indicator, and a clock. Additionally, the scooter offers the option of a side stand engine cut-off feature.
The 2023 Honda Dio is available in three variants, the Standard, Deluxe, and the Smart with prices starting at ₹70,211, ₹74,212, and ₹77,712 (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. The Dio faces competition from other popular scooters in the market such as the Hero Xoom and TVS Ntorq.
Honda is offering a segment-first 10-year warranty package for the 2023 Dio scooter. This comprises a standard 3-year coverage, which can be further extended with an optional warranty for an additional 7 years.
