BMW India has launched the Z4 Roadster in its M40i avatar in India. Priced at ₹89.30 lakh, the new Z4 will be hitting Indian shores as CBU units. BMW has said that deliveries will commence in June of this year. The German manufacturer has also said that it will provide a slew of customisation features in the new Z4.
The BMW Z4 is the German automaker’s modern take on the classic open-top sports car. The exteriors feature a newly designed kidney grille with a horizontal inner structure design, functional air intakes, vertically aligned LED headlights, and a long bonnet that extends over the wheel arches. At the back, the distinctive spoiler elegantly stands out from the surface, and the narrow L-shaped LED rear lights are framed by lateral design lines that flow across the rear body panels. The presence of the rear apron, which is joined by the diffuser and exhaust tailpipes, gives the rear a sportier appearance.
Enter the BMW Z4 Roadster and you are welcomed with a driver-oriented cockpit design. The seats in the car come with electric adjustability features with memory functions. The cabin is further made comfortable with the addition of ambient lights and a dual-zone climate control function. The Z4 has more cargo-carrying capacity, which is something new and better. The new BMW Z4 Roadster has increased storage space behind the seats, with a retaining net, and the car comes with large door pockets and sizable cupholders.
The BMW Z4 M40i comes with a leather and Alcantara interior with blue contrast stitching and blue piping as standard. There is an aluminium mesh effect on the trim. The luxurious interior includes an M leather steering wheel and M sports seats with additional adjustment options.
One can choose from a wide variety of optional features, including mirror caps in black, soft top anthracite, adaptive headlamps, interior and exterior mirror packages, M seat belts, Harman Kardon Surround system, comfort access, driving assistant, active cruise control, head-up display, and parking assistant.
The BMW Z4 Roadster is offered with a 3-litre six-cylinder in-line engine that churns out 335bhp of peak power and 500Nm of torque. The 8-speed Steptronic Sports Transmission helps the car reach 0-100 kmph in just 4.5 seconds.
The 2023 BMW Z4 Roadster comes at a price tag of ₹89.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The vehicle has a standard two-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty. The warranty can be extended from the third to a maximum of the fifth year, without a mileage cap.
