Audi has launched the Q3 Sportback at ₹51.43 lakh (ex-showroom). It gets a turbo-petrol engine (there's no diesel on offer as is with all new Audis) with Quattro AWD as standard. The Q3 Sportback is available in a single 'Technology' variant with the S Line styling pack as standard and gets a price hike of over one lakh rupees than the standard Q3.
The Q3 Sportback's sloping roof rear styling is what differentiates it from the standard Q3. This is now the second and most affordable coupe-suv in Audi's India line-up. It gets the 'S Line' styling pack as standard which adds in a whole host of silver trim. You get silver surroundings and a hexagonal mesh pattern on the front grille and rear bumper.
The Q3 Sportback also gets new 10-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels and a very eye-catchy 'Turbo Blue' paint option. It gets a total of five exterior colour options — Turbo Blue, Glacier White, Mythos Black, Chronos Grey and Navarra Blue and two interior colour options — Okapi Brown, Pearl Beige. The Q3 Sportback also features LED lighting all-around and a panoramic sunroof.
It is 36mm longer, 6mm narrower and 49mm shorter than the Q3 SUV, but it gets the same amount of boot space, 530-litres, although that lowered height hampers the total usable boot space.
The interior of the Q3 Sportback remains totally unchanged in comparison to its sibling, the standard Q3. Taking centre stage inside is a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen that's mounted below the Air-Con vents. It also gets Audi's 10.1-inch Virtual Cockpit digital instrument cluster. Its front seats are four-way power adjustable and you have the option of having them with either a full-leather or faux leatherette upholstery. More features include a wireless charging pad, two-zone climate control, electronic tailgate and heated inside and outside rear view mirrors.
On the safety front, the Q3 Sportback gets six-airbags, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and ISOFIX mounts for the rear seats.
Like all new Audis the Q3 Sportback comes with only one engine option. A turbo-petrol motor which generates 187bhp and 320Nm of peak torque. This engine sends power to all four wheels, courtesy of the standard Quattro AWD system, via a seven-speed S-tronic transmission. Audi claims the Q3 Sportback can sprint from 0 to 100kmph in 7.3 seconds.
Audi has launched the Q3 Sportback at ₹51.43 lakh and that makes it ₹96,000 more expensive than the top-end variant of the standard Q3. At the moment there are no direct rivals to the Q3 Sportback. The nearest coupe-suv is the Mercedes-Benz GLC coupe which sits a segment higher and therefore demands almost ₹20 lakh more.
