Mercedes-Benz has started accepting bookings for the new C-Class which will be launched soon on May 10. The car maker has announced the new C-Class can be booked for an amount of Rs 50,000. Mercedes-Benz has also said that the car will be offered in three variants at launch — the C200, C220d, and the range-topping C300d.
One key point to note here is that the booking window from today till April 30 is open exclusively for Mercedes-Benz customers, while the rest of the interested buyers will have to wait till May 1 to be able to book the new C-Class. Unlike the current model, the new car will be available in two diesel trims which will most likely be powered by a 2-litre powertrain, which produces 197bhp and 440Nm of torque on the C220d, while on the C300d the figures rise to 261bhp and 550Nm of torque. We expect more information on the petrol variant to roll out in the coming days.
Martin Schwenk, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India said, “The C-Class is an important product in our portfolio and will strengthen our luxury sedan offering even more. With every new generation, the loyal customers of the C-Class have preferred the car owing to its superior comfort, technological prowess and evolving design. The new C-Class now creates a new benchmark by excelling in design, comfort and tech offerings, moving closer to the New S-Class, rightly underlining its popularity as the Baby S-Class.”
The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class goes up against the BMW 3 Series, Audi A4, Jaguar XE, and the Volvo S60, and we expect it to command a premium over its rivals.
