The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso was launched back in end-2019, and has been given its first serious upgrade nearly two years later. In the wake of rising safety norms, Maruti Suzuki has given the S-Presso a bunch of safety features, aiming to give its mini-SUV an edge over rivals like the Renault Kwid. With prices starting from Rs 4.25 lakh (ex-showroom), the 2022 Maruti Suzuki S-Presso is now Rs 27,000 more expensive than the outgoing car.
2022 Maruti Suzuki S-Presso: What’s new?
Starting with the matter at hand, the 2022 S-Presso now receives two airbags, ABS, front seatbelt pre-tensioners, high-speed alert, reverse parking sensors, electronic stability programme, and hill-hold assist (in automatic variants). Additionally, the S-Presso also receives security alerts, vehicle tracking, geo-fencing, live status updates, and driving reports among others. It continues to receive the same SmartPlay studio system with CarPlay, Android Auto and voice commands.
2022 Maruti Suzuki S-Presso: Under the hood
The 2022 Maruti Suzuki S-Presso receives the same K10C 1-litre petrol powertrain that performs its duties in the new Celerio, which is available with five-speed manual and automatic transmissions. Power and torque have gone down by a meagre 1.3bhp and 1Nm of torque, as the 2022 S-Presso now puts out 65.7bhp and 89Nm of torque. Maruti Suzuki claims increased fuel efficiency figures of 17 per cent and 14 per cent on the automatic and manual variant respectively. Does that affect the real-world driving experience? 2022 Maruti Suzuki S-Presso Price and Rivals
The 2022 Maruti Suzuki S-Presso is available in six variants, with prices ranging between Rs 4.25 lakh (ex-showroom) to Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom). With the Redi-go gone thanks to Datsun having wrapped up its India operations, the Renault Kwid is the only rival the S-Presso goes up against.
