The 2021 Land Rover Discovery has been launched in India at a price starting from Rs 88.06 lakh and features a few visual as well as interior upgrades. It also features new straight-six Ingenium engines by Jaguar Land Rover, which is a first for the Discovery.
Design:
On the outside, the Land Rover Discovery comes with the new DRL signature headlights that give a sleek appeal to the redesigned grille and front bumpers that have a wide body colour graphic, which also comes on the new rear bumper. The Discovery also gets new side vents and LED taillights that are connected via the gloss black panel.
Interior:
The interior of the 2021 Land Rover Discovery gets a number of new features. The centre console comes with the new Pivi Pro infotainment system with an 11.4-inch HD touchscreen and OTA updates. The second-row seats are re-designed for comfort and are much larger than the ones on previous models. The seats come with an intelligent seat fold technology that allows you to easily configure the second, third row and fold down seats fully, according to your requirement for more storage space if needed. The Discovery also features cabin air ionisation with PM2.5 air filtration that helps in keeping the insides of the car cleaner and healthier.
Engine:
The new Land Rover Discovery comes with straight-six Ingenium engines in petrol and diesel. The straight-six comes with a 3-litre, six-cylinder petrol engine(P360) producing 355bhp and 500Nm of torque and a 3-litre, six-cylinder diesel engine(D300) producing 296bhp and 650Nm of torque. It also comes with a P300 Ingenium petrol engine that packs a 2-litre, four-cylinder engine producing 296bhp and 400Nm of torque.
The Land Rover Discovery goes up against the likes of Mercedes-Benz GLE and BMW X5.
